Internationally acclaimed soprano Elizabeth Connell will host the Joan Sutherland Society's first ever Public Masterclass. Ms Connell, who will be performing Elektra in Auckland prior to this event, is a renowned dramatic soprano and favourite with Australian audiences. She has performed many leading roles for Opera Australia including; Norma, Ariadne, Abagaille, Leonora, Medea,Turandot and will return to Melbourne in 2011 for performances of Lady Macbeth with Opera Australia. Accompanied by Tahu Matheson, six singers, all at varying stages in their careers will present arias for what promises to be a fascinating afternoon. Featuring: Sopranos; Rachel Bate, Naomi Johns, Sarah Anne Walker, Mezzo soprano; Rosa Krel, Tenor; Brad Cooper, Bass Baritone; Abraham Singer.
An ideal opportunity for opera enthusiasts, teachers and students to observe the art of operatic singing, technique, interpretation and presentation under the guidance of this world class artist.
