| Hadleigh Adams wins the 2010 Joan Sutherland and Richard Bonynge Vocal Scholarship |

On 25 July, eight young singers battled it out for title of 2010 Joan Sutherland and Richard Bonynge Vocal Scholarship winner as part of the Mc Donald’s Sydney Eisteddfod. Adjudicators Richard Bonynge and Adele Johnston awarded the first prize to New Zealand born baritone, HADLEIGH ADAMS, the Rosina Raisbeck award went to W.A. soprano, NAOMI JOHNS and the Marja Baudish award to ALEXANDER SEFTON also of W.A. Congratulations to all the finalists, especially our winners and to our guest artists on the day, baritone Christopher Hillier and his wife Alison on piano. The finals were attended by Ms June Dally-Watkins and the Mayor of Burwood, Cr John Sidoti. News just in. HADLEIGH has won the $3,000 second prize in the Opera and Arts Support Group Award Final which was held on 20 August. First prize went to fellow JSS Scholarship winner EMMA MOORE. Congratulations to both Hadleigh and Emma. |
