Maestro RICHARD BONYNGE made a dash to London in January for a special event. The National Dance Awards were held at The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden and retired ballerina, Dame Beryl Grey presented THE PATRON’S AWARD to the veteran conductor for his service to ballet. Perhaps his dedication to dance is not quite as well known as his contribution to the world of opera, but he has recorded an enormous catalogue of ballet music, both popular & obscure.

Richard Bonynge will be Chairman of the Adjudicating panel for the Joan Sutherland & Richard Bonynge Vocal Scholarship this year on July 25^th and will conduct Bellini's La Sonnambula in Melbourne and Sydney for Opera Australia in 2010.
